3.3.2. Channel Level Administration

The Channel Founders, Channel Administrators, Channel Operators, and Channel Half-Operators are the roles that made up a channel administration. Any user who created and registered a channel will be assigned as the Founder of the created channel. Channel Founders have total control over the channels they created and have the responsibility to maintain the channel. Channel Founders can assign Channel Administrators, Operators, and Half-Operators to help managing the channel. The channel administration is responsible of what being done on their channel and will be held responsible for any wrongdoings on their channel. They are able to kick out and ban violating users from their channel.

Moderation

Channel administration team are expected to moderate their channel accordingly. Whenever any alarming situation happens, channel administration are expected to respond to it and stop the situation from proceding to worse. Common moderation actions includes:

  • Talking to the offending users to request stop

  • Set channel to moderated mode, and devoice offending users

  • KickBan offending users from channel

  • Inform IRCoperators or other higher authority and request for advise/action
